Description
You will be picked up from your hotel in Hurghada by air-conditioned vehicle, which will take you through the Eastern Desert on your way to the Nile Valley. Upon arrival in Luxor, check into your hotel. Enjoy dinner and a good night’s sleep. But beware! The night is short because if you want to go ballooning, you must get up early.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Luxor at around 4:15 a.m., it can also be a little earlier or later. The destination is the launch site of your 45-60 minute sunrise hot air balloon ride with all its ancient temples and tombs.
During your balloon ride you will see the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, the Workers’ Settlement and their Tombs, as well as the Temple of Habu (Ramses III) and the Valley of the Queens.
After this exciting balloon ride, you will return to the hotel, where you will be spoiled with a hearty breakfast. Then head to the Valley of the Kings, home to over 70 rock-cut tombs. Continue to the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Around 1:00 PM, enjoy a lunch rich in Egyptian specialties.
After lunch, board a motorboat and cruise the beautiful Nile to the east bank. Pass the Winter Palace Hotel, where Agatha Christi wrote her famous novel, Death on the Nile. On the east bank you will visit the Karnak Temple, one of the most beautiful and largest temple complexes in all of Egypt. After the balloon ride, this temple is the second major highlight of this excursion.
